This built-to-order ski Adirondack chair will be handcrafted from the carefully selected skis shown in the photos.
 
From my collection of hundreds of pairs of skis, I personally choose ski combinations that have the right balance of color, graphics, and character to create a visually striking finished chair. The photos show the exact ski selection for this chair, arranged to help you imagine how the back and seat will look once the chair is complete.
 
Please note: the skis shown in these layout photos are not yet restored and are not the finished chair. Before becoming furniture, each ski goes through my detailed restoration process. Skis are carefully cleaned, stickers and residue are removed, rust is removed from exposed edges, binding holes are filled and color-matched to the original graphics, edges are sealed for protection, and a clear protective finish is applied to preserve the beauty and character of the skis.
 
You may choose whether this chair is built as a traditional Adirondack chair or as my unique folding ski Adirondack chair. Folding Adirondack chairs exist, and ski chairs exist, but a folding Adirondack chair made from authentic skis is a rare combination created here in my Lake Placid workshop.
 
Each chair is handcrafted using rot-resistant hardwood and stainless steel weather-resistant hardware. The result is a sturdy, comfortable piece of functional art that transforms authentic ski equipment into heirloom-quality furniture.
 
Skis are not indestructible. Over time, moisture, freezing temperatures, UV exposure, and use can cause rust, fading, and delamination. My restoration process is focused on preserving these pieces of ski history so they can continue their story as furniture.
